Silence

Silenced by the noise of protesters and advocates for justice, a long way from the quiet and somber days of past. I’m sure a thousand more shots will pierce through the night. Leaving another bystander either the target or the witness, calls for justice or peace fade after the news discreetly transitions to the next phase. Who will be next, who will fall, leaving a family standing over a freshly polished casket?
More importantly who will make noise when the rest of the world is silent; who will ruffle the calm, wearing freedom as a flag. If not let us be silent forever, let us lay with injustice and birth its seeds. Listen for a voice standing alone out in the open, in the middle of nowhere.
This has to begin and end the same.
